Maganese sand mechanical filter for Fe and Mn irons removal Mild steel Q235B
Introduction
Effectively remove Fe and Mn irons from ground water. Depending on the Feffous and Maganese ions contents, it can be removed by different MnO2 contents. Below 35% MnO2, it can remove Mn ions; it can remove both Fe and Mn ions by MnO2 over 35%. Efficiency is up to 90%.
The maganese sand mechanical filter are widely used in water treatment, purification, waste water treatment, as well as pretreatment of reverse osmosis, UF.
Technical advantage
Robust design, mild steel with internal rubber liner and anticorrosion surface treatment
Proven process and most tested forms of water treatment
Systems are robust with no moving parts inside the tanks
Built-in control, forward and backwash piping and connection port
Suitable with various filtration media
Easily cleaned and maintained
Resistant to fouling (clogging)

Applications
Ferrous and manganese are contained in most underground water, Fe ions as much as high 5~15mg/L, up to 20~39 mg/L, Mn ions of 0.5~2.0mg/L up to 2.0 mg/L. In the ground water, excessive iron exists as Fe2+; therefore, newly extracted water is clear and clean but with iron smell, and the water becomes muddy as time goes by. Fe2+ can easily pollute ion exchange resin, poison resin and thus reduce exchange capability. Fe2+ pollutes RO membrane and makes it invalid. As boiler supply water, iron-containing water is subject to scale formation, affecting the heat transmission as well as tube wall corrosion. When the iron content in cooling water exceeds 0.5mg/L, iron will promote iron bacterium reproduction and the generated slime will block the pipeline as well as accelerate equipment corrosion. The high valence manganese contained in natural manganese sand built in iron and manganese removal filter can oxidize Fe2+ in water into Fe3+, meanwhile form catalyzing “active filter membrane” on the surface of the manganese sand filter to further improve the effect of iron removal, integrating processes including oxidation, ion exchange, retaining and clarification. Reasonable design can be realized based on the water quality of the client, achieving reliable and stable effect.
